MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS

Renew Your Health, Transform Your Future

SEMAGLUTIDE

  • Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications initially used to treat diabetes by mimicking a natural hormone (GLP-1) that prompts the body to produce more insulin after eating. That, inturn, reduces blood sugar levels and impacts the areas of the brain that regulate food intake and appetite; therefore, reducing your appetite and feelings of hunger. Other prescription weight loss medications on the market that act on the central nervous system to suppress appetite (though by a different mechanism than GLP-1 drugs) such as bupropion-naltrexone (Contrave) and phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia) do not come close to the efficacy of semaglutide, according to experts and published studies.

Your provider will initiate Semaglustide therapy at a low dose, incrementally adjusting it no more frequently than every 4 weeks. Injection sites for Semaglutide include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

  • Semaglutide helps regulate your blood sugar low, to allow fat burning to happen while also slowing gastric emptying to aid in appetite control and keep you feeling fuller longer. Semaglutide is in a class of medicines called incretin mimetics which work by helping the pancreas to correctly release insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move glucose from the blood into the tissue around the body, which is then used for energy.

TIRZEPATIDE

  • Tirzepatide injection (Zepbound) is used along with an individualized low-calorie, low-fat diet and exercise program to help with weight loss in obese adults or overweight adults who may also have high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease or high cholesterol. Tirzepatide is in a class of medications called glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. It works by increasing insulin available and decreasing glucagon (a hormone that controls the amount of glucose made by the liver) available in the body. Tirzepatide injection also works by slowing the movement of food through the stomach and may decrease appetite and cause weight loss.

Your provider will initiate Tirzepatide therapy at a low dose, incrementally adjusting it no more frequently than every 4 weeks. Injection sites for Tirzepatide include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and it is recommended to rotate these sites with each administration.

    Benefits of Tirzepatide?
    Effective Weight Reduction:
Clinical trials have demonstrated significant weight loss among individuals using Tirzepatide. This effect is particularly beneficial for people with obesity or those struggling to lose weight through diet and exercise alone.

    Appetite Control:
Tirzepatide works by mimicking the effects of GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which helps regulate appetite. It increases feelings of fullness and reduces hunger, making it easier for individuals to adhere to a reduced-calorie diet necessary for weight loss.

    Body Composition Improvement:
In addition to reducing overall body weight, Tirzepatide may help improve body composition by reducing fat mass while preserving lean muscle mass. This is important for maintaining metabolic health and overall well-being.

    Long-term Sustainability:
The once-weekly dosing schedule of Tirzepatide offers convenience and may enhance adherence to treatment compared to daily medications or more frequent injections for weight management.

    Cardiometabolic Benefits:
Beyond weight loss, Tirzepatide has shown potential cardiovascular benefits, including improvements in markers such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood glucose control, which are crucial for reducing cardiovascular risk factors associated with obesity.

    Comprehensive Approach:
Tirzepatide addresses multiple aspects of weight management, including appetite regulation, metabolic improvements, and sustainable weight loss, making it a valuable option for individuals aiming to achieve and maintain a healthier weight.

These benefits highlight Tirzepatide as a promising treatment option for individuals struggling with obesity or excess weight, providing a comprehensive approach to weight management alongside lifestyle modifications.
